As we start the day today, a light rain continues to fall. It’s really wet out there! We will deliver some corn on contract to GPC today, but there will be no harvest work in the field. The forecast is better starting tomorrow, and there’s even sunshine in the forecast for Friday! Maybe we can return to corn harvest by then.
We have been meeting with Greg Anthis of CPS Wheatland routinely this month to go over soil test results and make plans for fertility applications for the 2015 crops. Soon, we will also be making our seed decisions. Even though we don’t have the ’14 crop completely brought in from the fields, we are already at work on the ’15 crop!
We are seeing the fields here at the home farm turn a beautiful green as the cover-crop wheat gets its start.
