Typical for this week of corn harvesting: Tractor and grain cart in the soft field, truck on the blacktop. We’re fortunate with this location at the Grubb farm; the paved road is the field entrance. in other locations, the trucks have had to be parked as much as 1/2 mile from where the combines were running.

You can see that this combine has driven through some mud and a little muddy water. Besides the tires and frame, the mud gets slung up on the green body panels, too.

The grain cart and its tractor get pretty crusty dirty in these type of muddy conditions. Yucky as this is, we have seen worse, with bigger ruts in the field and thicker debris on the machines.
After harvest is complete, all these machines and trucks will get a thorough clean-up treatment. It will be a little tougher to do this year, but once cleaned, they will all shine like new!
