Slowly I am getting the office computer whipped back into usefulness. I found a way today to re-load the MS Office software back into the machine… Excel, Outlook, and Word. Now, I can fire those up from a shortcut on the desktop. And later I found a way to create a shortcut to link to QB Online. Luckily, I was able to reconnect to the external hard drive backup and get needed information back. Because my backup was not completely current, I am working to recreate the spreadsheets for this crop year. These various spreadsheets record the incoming truckloads of grain, and the field-by-field records of the results needed internally and for FSA and crop insurance. Even though the backups were not fully current, I can use previous documents as a template to get the current ones rebuilt. Guess what? The backups will become more current in the future!

One of several Excel sheets I must recreate. Yes, it’s a bit of work, but I’m so happy to see it on the screen again!
Brandon D has refilled the sprayer support trailer. Now, he’s out there with the JD 6145R tractor and rotary cutter (bush hog) mowing riparian strips along several ditches and also some roadsides. It really looks great behind him.
He has also run the sprayer a bit last week… it’s good to have another person equipped to operate that critical machine.
The air cart and drill are now stowed away until next planting season. We will have them inspected this winter and we will perform any preventive maintenance identified by that inspection. We will need it to run as flawlessly as possible for #plant26!

We have to decouple the cart from the drill in order to get it under roof. Not convenient, but we don’t want it sitting outside any more than it must during the long soybean planting season.
So, I’ll have some extended hours in the office, but I don’t mind…it’s cool in here on an otherwise hot and sticky SWIN day.
