Oh no!

I have been having some computer difficulties for the past few days.  Wednesday morning, I was typing along on a Word document, and the thing just locked up.  No response.  So, I unplugged the computer and tried to reboot.  No response.  I took it to a local computer repair specialist, and he diagnosed the problem as a “fried hard drive”.   He replaced it but was not able to recover or transfer any information to the new hard drive.  So, I’ve been working today to get back some semblance of workability.

Yes, I have an external hard drive as backup, but the last formal backup was 3-4 months ago.  Mostly today, I concentrated on getting to my online version of QuickBooks… and I got that going.

Next, I worked up getting connected to my email program, Outlook.  I was able to get hooked back up to that.

The next stage of recovery will be to get Excel and Word back up and running, and then to re-load in the many files that are located on the backup hard drive.   This will take me a long time to get figured out, but I’m hopeful I’ll get there eventually!

At least it’s cool in the office on this 96ºF day!

Brandon K is spraying herbicide on soybeans at the Burke farm.  Brandon D is mowing roadsides.  Larry is hauling wheat to Evansville.  It’s a busy day here.
