Where did this month go? There’s an old saying, “there’s nothing so rare as a day in June.” I think that’s quite true.
The crops are showing some progress.
I went out with the bush hog yesterday afternoon and this morning. It certainly cleans up the appearance of your fields to mow along the roadsides. I can mow waterways and riparian strips beginning July 1.
Brandon has the white Mack truck, Vanna, in the shop today for a wash job. He finished delivering the last load of corn to market yesterday, so now we are officially and completely MT (empty) of 2015 grain.
We got word yesterday that our BIL John Hobson will be one of the torch bearers for the Indiana Bicentennial Torch Relay. He will participate near his home in Ohio County. This relay is one of many big events to celebrate the 200th birthday of Indiana. The torch was crafted at Purdue University, and will travel over 2000 miles across Indiana, and pass through each of the 92 counties. John will be carrying the beautiful symbol of our state on September 17. I’m eager to see the torch pass through Knox County, and we hope to see John bearing it in Ohio County!
Have a great Independence Day!
