We worked at the Freddie farm today. It is our last location to harvest for corn for this year. It’s our largest field, (and most distant) with 310 acres. Like most other locations, the yields are good. There is good news: The yields are above expectations, so much so that we are running out of room in our storage for corn! The bad news is: We are running out of room for corn storage! If we have no delay, we could finish this crop on Wednesday. But we may have to take a day and deliver some corn from our storage to market in order to make room for the rest of the Freddie corn. So, the finish line on corn may extend another day or so.
Good problem to have… it’s been quite a few years since we’ve been confronted with this situation.
After the corn gets done, the double-crop soybean (DCB) will likely be ready for harvest, and we can continue to harvest in this run of dry days…
