Fungicide

Wednesday, May 16, 2018

On Monday of  this week, John had a big day of spraying, and put a fungicide on our wheat crop.  The window of opportunity to get this task accomplished correctly is about 30 hours– and he got it done in that time frame.

John tries to use the same sprayer tracks that were made when we applied a herbicide.

The sprayer applies a uniform coating of fungicide on the flowering heads of wheat.

Even though we are about a month away from wheat harvest, we are pretty optimistic about it.  Maybe a better word is ‘hopeful’.  But it does look good today.

Brandon is delivering sections of the old grain leg to the local scrap yard today.  Wow, after 45  years of service here, it goes out without any fanfare.  It’ll take him a couple more trips to get it all moved from here to there.

Out to the scrap yard….

Cloudy today and currently 76ºF   Comfortable day.
