Happy Easter 2017

Sunday evening, April 16, 2017

First, let us send you our very best wishes for a happy Resurrection Sunday!  We hope you find reasons to celebrate the risen Savior.   We had a special morning at church today, with an early “Resurrection” service, a breakfast fellowship time, and then a meaningful morning worship.  The sermon time was encouraging, and the special choir and music was inspiring.   Blessed.

We had a good couple of planting days on Friday and Saturday.  The fields dried out sufficiently to allow us back in after the Monday night rain.  We were able to make good use of the days, and got many acres of corn and soybeans planted.  The corn is nearly half planted, and the soybeans are over 20% in the ground.  We are grateful for any planting accomplished in April, and we are pleased with the progress.

Yesterday, was Ross’ 74th birthday.  He got to spend the bulk of it in a tractor, which is his typical way to celebrate his  birthday.   There was a gathering of family for him when he came in for the evening!   Cake was involved…

There is an old saying in these parts — “If it rains on Easter, it’ll rain for the next 7 Sundays.”  Well, it rained today.   That will stop field work for some days.  The forecast has rain in it each day for the next week.  We will see what happens.

Easter… it brings hope!
