On this very ‘American’ holiday, we are reminded to count our blessings. This is my favorite holiday, not for the food, but for the attitude it fosters. We are encouraged to use this day to express our gratitude to our Maker, and acknowledge that He is the source of every good and perfect gift. Of course, we should also express to those around us our appreciation for their significance in our lives.
Thanksgiving Day can assist us in our goal to live each day with a thankful heart.
Here is the classic Scripture passage about living with gratitude. 1 Thessalonians 5:18. “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” And here is another reminder from Colossians 3:17 “ And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
May this day be a blessing to you and yours.
