There’s always something that needs attention around here. This morning, Brandon is preparing the ‘suntan machine’ for storage. Its work for the summer is finished, and it’s time to put it away.

These two pieces get ‘stacked’ in the shed to make more room. The fuel trailer will return to its parking spot in front of the AC D-15
John is servicing his pickup this morning.
Last Saturday, I took the bush hog to the Watjen farm to clean up the roadside appearance. Also, I mowed at Dunlap, Lett, and Dunn. More of this task is needed, and we’re hoping it will be the final pass for 2016.

This is kind of a ‘before’ shot… there is a narrow strip between the road and the ditch that is too skinny to plant, so we mow this area.
After traveling to Wheatland this morning to spot spray some johnsongrass along The highway (IN 550) at Newman, I took some time to clean the Gator.
At home, I’m kind of dreading the upcoming task to paint our deck. I have already done the pressure washing task, so it’s now ready for the new coating of color and protectant. I guess this stuff takes two coats, too. Don’t know if that’ll get done this week or next… the predicted temperatures in the 90s are a little intimidating… next week may be a little bit cooler for this task!
School starts at South Knox tomorrow, and the teachers come in today for their first day. There’s a traditional lunch for all the staff at noon today, and I’ll be going for that. It’ll be my last one of these, as I will be retiring from the school board this December. It’s been a terrific experience over these last 19 1/2 years– 5 terms! What a privilege it’s been.
Ross will be making his trip to the Kentucky State Fair horse show soon. Good luck!
Keep cool this week.
