John, Brandon, and I met with Luke Halter of CPS and Jared Thomas of Climate Corp to get up-to-speed on the new technology of Climate Corp.  All our fields are entered into the Climate “Basic” system, which gives no-cost rainfall reports, current field-level weather, and other information.      We are using a complimentary “Pro” package on the Steen and Newman farm locations.  This higher level of service can provide satellite images periodically through the growing season that will assist in our nitrogen management.  It will also report relative plant health.   Using this complimentary “Pro” service on a few fields will allow us to evaluate the value of this service, and determine if we expand the service next year on all acres.

I will spend a few hours this week updating the information in our Climate.com database, so that it can accurately view what crop is growing in each field.
