It’s a gray and chilly day in southwest Indiana. It looks like winter out there…except there’s no snow. I’m in the office this morning, to write the weekly paychecks. The little Roomba is running around, sweeping the floor.
I’ll be headed back home soon to my big recliner. This will rest my recuperating shoulder under an ice pack. Third trip to PT this afternoon. I think those exercises will be getting more difficult soon, they have been rather easy so far.
Big game for our local HS basketball team tonight. County rival Vincennes Lincoln visits South Knox and both are HM in state rankings… SK in 2A, Vincennes in 3A. We’re hoping our Spartans can defeat the Alices this time…a rare event, but sweet when it happens! No doubt “Alices” is a unique mascot name; I understand it comes from an old book called Alice of Old Vincennes.
The recent posting about the corn planter repair prompted some questions. How many seeds does each row drop per minute? Well, if the planter is moving through the field at 5 mph, (a typical speed) each row unit travels 440 feet and places about 700 seeds in the soil each minute. And if you add all 24 rows together… it covers .606 acres each minute!
What a nifty machine.
Have a great weekend.
