Where did that come from?

Thunder and lightning!

We started the day with delivering some corn to GPC and soybeans to Robinsons… but that has come to a halt because of heavy rain.  The surprise was the thunder and lightning that is embedded in this rain shower.  This is one of those days when you think, “will it ever dry up again?”  It’s gray and gloomy and looks like a winter day.  Don’t think we will be back in the field today.

Looking out from the office porch late this morning, you can see the rainwater running in streams across the farm lot.

We think back just a few days to those sunny and dry days when we cut the bulk of our soybean crop.  Oh, that was fun!

Here we were back on September 27th, having a very fun day in the soybean field!

There will be more beautiful days this fall, and we are hopeful about the yields on the double-crop soybeans (DCB).  That is the optimism of a farmer… the sun will shine again!
