Checking it out

After a terrific morning at Wheatland Christian Church, we had some leftover spaghetti-bake for lunch (or in southern Indiana AKA Sunday dinner).  Nicolas and I took an extended Gator ride around and across all the double-crop soybeans (DCB).  The last-planted ones went in on Monday afternoon the 23rd, so they have only been in the ground 6 days.  DCB everywhere were up and going, with the first-planted 3-4″ tall and the last-planted just emerging.  It was a happy thing to see those beans coming up!

Although a few are just now emerging, these DCB are looking good coming through the wheat stubble.

Supper tonight was a fabulous ‘steak night’ with Pat preparing NY strips or filets.  It was a special meal to celebrate Nicolas’ soon departure.
