End of the week

Saturday, June 7, 2014

For the past couple days, Nicolas and I traveled to the Quad Cities to tour some John Deere sites.  We had a good visit at the JD Pavilion, and on Friday, we had a personal tour at the Harvester (Combine) Works.  Later Friday, we toured the World HQ building.  Pretty neat stuff.

We toured the combine factory ("usine" in French) with our guide Bernie.

We arrived back home late Friday night.

Today, Nicolas is assisting John with the 4730 sprayer.  They are applying a herbicide tank mix of Roundup and Warrant to the Freddie farm.  Once the spraying is done today, we will be “caught up” until early July.

John and Nicolas re-filled the 4730 sprayer and are ready to take off to spray at the Freddie farm. The Freddie farm has our largest field, 320 acres... 1 mile long and 1/2 mile wide.

The wheat continues to ripen, maybe in a week to 10 days the combines will roll!

We think the Shepards will complete their work at Lett late tonight.  Sure hope so.
