Thanks to tickets from Troy Clawson, our Monsanto rep, we were able to go to Purdue to enjoy a Boilermaker-B1G basketball game. I always get a little sentimental when I return to Mackey Arena. It is really neat to hear the crowd sing “Hail, Purdue”. Maybe the Boilers were not at the peak of their performance yesterday, but they did score 70 points and earned the win over Nebraska. Yes, there have been times in the past when the crowd was louder, and the team was more exciting to watch. Even so, it was a great time to be in Mackey, and we really enjoyed the game.
Here are some pictures from yesterday. The day was sunny, and in the high 40s. We’ve certainly experienced colder days in West Lafayette!
After the game, we had a tasty late lunch at Nine Irish Brothers restaurant. Then we traveled back home to Knox County, taking a more scenic route down 231. Arriving just before dark, we were ready for the evening to wind down.
Even though the weather is warmer, it will be a little slower pace this week on the farm. There is no corn scheduled to be delivered until Thursday.
