Bad weather coming?

Thursday, December 5, 2013

The weather prediction is pretty interesting.  We are in the part of the Midwest that is predicted to receive 5-7″ of snow, preceded by sleet and freezing rain.   The rain (they say) will begin this afternoon, and turn to sleet and then freezing rain.  The snow is predicted to begin about 10 pm, and continue through the day on Friday.  If it is windy too, that will create big drifts of white stuff in our lane.

So, we are preparing our snow blower in case it’s needed tomorrow.  We hooked it up early this morning, and now we are servicing the tractor and lubricating the blower.  Soon, it’ll be ready to help clear the lane and the local roads… that is, if we really get what they say is headed our way.

Today in the shop, no video productions, but we are preparing the 7130 with the snow blower. Lubrication is applied to the chains, and the grease fittings.

Until the bad weather hits, we are still delivering corn to GPC.  John did re-arrange the delivery appointments, so that the trucks will not need to be on the road tomorrow.

The Pete is back from the shop with a new clutch... and today it's being loaded to go to GPC.

The prediction of snow is not scary, but the thing that concerns us most is the period of freezing rain they say we may be getting this evening.  Let’s hope that the stuff we are seeing on the Weather Channel is a bit too hyped.

Ross is longing for his place in Winter Haven, Florida… where it’s 85º today!
