Back in the groove

The 11th anniversary of 9-11 brings back vivid memories of that day.  You could not ask for a more beautiful day…. clear blue skies.  Like everyone else, I remember where I was and what I was doing on that day.  May we never forget.

We returned to the corn field yesterday, finishing the Holscher farm, and it had a yield of 113.5,  just a tick too high for a crop insurance claim.  We moved to the Huey farm, and we’ll be there a couple more days.  The yields there are not so good, I’m pretty sure there will be a claim there.  I have to keep the yield calculations current each morning; if a unit has a yield low enough to file a claim, it must be reported to the agent within 72 hours of the completion of that unit’s harvest.  Another thing to keep me on my toes!

The sunshine is brilliant this morning, right now it’s cool, but 80s predicted for this afternoon.  A perfect fall harvest day.
