There are many machines and trucks and trailers scattered around the farm lot this morning. The guys are getting the water (sprayer support) trailer hooked up to the Mack truck, getting it ready for spring. With very few loads of corn remaining to be delivered, the Wilson trailer is being removed from the Mack and retired for the spring season.
They had to pull out several things, including the corn planter. Among the machines moved was the 9R540 tractor. It came to the shop to have its first engine oil change. I hope to wash the pickup once the 540 moves out of the shop. So, there are lots of moving parts here at the farm today.

This will come out again towards the end of the month to be inspected and set up for corn planting time.

The 9R540 gets its first oil change today. This has become my favorite tractor — a pleasure to operate.
The weather is slowly improving, the temp is supposed to come up to mid-50s today… and 72º by Monday! But just day before yesterday, it was an unpleasant, blustery, snowy day. Plus, there was a tiny bit of snow flurries early this morning.
Sideways snow on Wednesday…
If the weather stays favorable, and the fields dry down, we will be ready and willing to apply some NH3 after March 20. Any field work that we can do in March is a bonus. No, we won’t plant any corn or soybeans in March, but we will do all we can to prepare for April!
Have a good weekend.
