Bill is on his second trip to ADM at Newburgh. Brandon just returned from his trip. Corn is moving. When August arrives, there will be wheat to deliver also. I have been out in the Gator spraying along roadsides at Leser and Cox and Cresy. I am considering going out with the bush hog to mow a couple roadsides. A typical July day.

When I was mowing up at the Lett and Watjen farms yesterday afternoon, I was very pleased with the appearance of the soybeans at those two locations. Probably, it’s never been better at those farms, at least that’s the way it is today. Again, dad’s words ring in my ears, “Don’t start writing checks on it just yet.”

This is the bigger field at the Lett farm. Looks pretty good at this stage. R5, and setting pods. Just look at those beautiful “Andy’s room” clouds.
The Knox County Fair took place last week, Indiana’s oldest fair. The weather for the first 3-4 days was super-hot, and it dinged attendance. Then, a rain came and the weather cooled a bit, and attendance picked up.
I will be doing bits of Gator spraying over the next few days, and I plan to return to more bush hog work next week. Once August arrives, I’ll mow the riparian strips at Waldo, Dunn, Huey, and Pond. There are waterways that will need attention, too. We will get there eventually.
The current temp is 86ºF (30ºC) and could be a bit warmer later today. The trend is near 90ºF for a few days, and there is a slight chance of rain each afternoon. It is a typical July day in southern Indiana.
Keep cool!
