Loading a truck

Bill is hauling corn to ADM in Newburgh.  I got to load him for his 2nd trip of the day.  It takes him a tick over 3 hours to make a round trip down to Newburgh, and at this time of year, a couple trips a day is the goal.

The corn still looks pretty nice coming out of storage…

Brandon is out in the JD R4044 sprayer near Wheatland, spraying the double-crop soybeans (DCB).  The johnsongrass and waterhemp and copperleaf are making those fields look pretty wooly, but this pass should stop all that.  In a week to 10 days, the DCB fields will be looking good.  If Brandon has a big day today, he can get all the DCB covered.   Let’s hope he can do so.

From JD Operations Center, here is a map of where the sprayer has run so far today. It appears that Brandon has been in 3 fields and sprayed about 120 acres.

We are launching an effort soon to locate a full-time employee.  If you know of someone who has an interest in working on southern Indiana grain farm, let us know.

Have a wonderful weekend.
