Tonight we will have what is known as a ‘blue moon’. I have heard of this for years, knowing that the phrase ‘once in a blue moon’ means something that occurs rarely. Well, I got the definition the other day from Kevin the weather man on Channel 10 in Terre Haute. He reported that a ‘blue moon’ is when a full moon occurs a second time in the same month. Tonight’s blue moon will be the first one since March 31, 2018. The fact that this is a rare event was reinforced by the Weather Channel this morning. TWC reported that the last time a blue moon occurred on Halloween was 1939! Guess I’m never too old to learn something new.

Hi – thanks for the information. The moon was beautiful last night so glad to learn a little more about the “blue moon”..
Have a Happy Halloween! Miss you guys!!
