Late last night, we returned home from a quick trip down to Disney World. A few weeks ago, my wife Pat suggested we take a few days down there to celebrate my birthday (number 67 on the 19th). Well, you don’t have to twist my arm to spark my interest in going to see Mickey.
We took the (very) early flight out of Indianapolis to MCO on Monday. We spent three wonderful nights at Disney, and enjoyed an ‘after hours’ event at the Magic Kingdom. That event enables you to ride just about any attraction you like with no waiting in line. We also took in the 3 new films at Epcot, and enjoyed the Slinky Dog coaster at the Studios. We are old enough now to understand that we cannot cram in every ride or show in our time there, so we hit the highlights that are important to us. But with some careful planning, we were able to experience just about every ride and show we had hoped to do.
We were very pleased with new restaurant experiences including the Ale & Compass at Yacht Club, and the Turf Club at Saratoga Springs. It was a special time away, with excellent warm (80s) weather. What a special way to celebrate my birthday!
We returned home pretty tired, but with many special memories. It’s always fun time for us at WDW. And this was our 3rd trip to WDW since September! I guess you could say that WDW is our ‘happy place’.
