Our DeKalb/Asgrow seed dealer (who is also a good neighbor) started delivering the seed corn today. We place seed in our old concrete block building… one that was original to the farm when we moved here in February 1958. That building at one time contained almost all our farm equipment, but now it serves mostly as seasonal seed storage.
The project electrician for the grain leg replacement is on-site today to do some preliminary work and planning for the powering of the new elevator and its related unload pit.
It’s cool and cloudy today, with rain in the forecast.
Good luck to our Purdue Boilermakers tonight in their Sweet 16 game vs. Texas Tech. Have a good weekend, everyone.
I see the trusses are metal but what about the arched beam they are under? If those are wood how did they get the curve?
In your block building…
Well, there are no beams above the steel trusses, those are short sections between rafters. Next time you’re over, you can check it out…Enjoy spring.
