Yes, we are getting close to the end of #harvest16, but we discovered yesterday at the Freddie farm, the late replanted soybeans are not quite ready. Those should be ripe and dry by next week sometime. We have now <500 acres to harvest. We do have some small patches of replant left on 4 farm locations. Those spots will take longer to travel around and hook up headers than to harvest them.
Also, work for 2017 has begun with some lime being applied to the fields here at the home farm. Lime raises the pH of the soil, and is the soil amendment of primary importance– we must get that right before we attend to other matters.

Here goes the CPS truck spreading lime. It is applied based on the soil test map, varying the rate from .5 to 3T per acre.
