Rainy Monday

September 26, 2016

The rain began during the night, about 3 am, when I heard some thunder.  According to Climate.com, we have received .6 to 1.1″ depending on location.  This rainy day will give us an opportunity to catch up on some office work, and collect for the soybeans that have already been delivered.  We have some routine maintenance work to do on one of the combines.

We had two very good weeks of #harvest16.  We made good progress on the corn and soybeans.  It appears now that when we return to the soybean fields, that almost all of them will be dry enough to harvest!.   And the weather report for the upcoming days is pretty favorable, even if the temperatures will be cooler–70s not 80s. Here’s hoping that we can make much progress on #harvest16 with this forecast.

10-day forecast, not bad for late Sep/early Oct.

We may have to work a day or two in the corn before the fields will be dry enough to harvest soybeans again.
