Switch over to corn

Wednesday, September 14, 2016

Yesterday evening, we completed harvesting all the first-planted, early-maturing soybeans here at the main farm location.  More soybeans won’t be dry enough for harvest for 5-7 days.  So, we are switching over to corn today.  We have a last-half Sep corn contract to fill at GPC, so we are going to get at least enough corn to fill that contract.  We are hoping the moisture level will be <25%.  If that is so, we may pick corn until more soybeans are ready.
