Another PIP

Tuesday, April 12, 2016

John Deere provided another PIP (Product Improvement Program) for our S680 combine today.  Seems that John Deere has had some complaints about the S-series cabs being noisy, so Kyle from Hutson, Inc. is here today to install more soundproofing material.  It was a 6-hour task.  He removed most of the inner contents of the cab, applied many new pieces of a sound-deadening layer, then re-installed the cab inner workings.

After getting a truck, a header, and the backhoe out of the way, we moved the combine near the door to give Kyle access to the cab.

First thing to come out was the seat, which Kyle lowered to the ground with the small crane on his service truck

Here's the 'after' shot. Kyle got everything put back, good as new!
