Into DCB

Saturday, October 25, 2014

We will be heading off to cut some DCB at Waldo today.  We have under 300 acres of DCB remaining to harvest.  The mornings have been a little damp, but by noon it’s a go!

Our progress through the DCB has been slowed somewhat by the fact that we must also deliver some beans to market at ADM on the Ohio River at Newburgh, Indiana each day now, in order to make room in our storage for what we are harvesting.  The yields have been very good in the DCB.

The difference between an average yield and this good yield?  The growing season weather that our Maker provides… we are grateful for the bounty.

Hopefully, we will finish off the DCB and thus complete the fall harvest of 2014 before the next rain-maker weather event early next week!
