Yesterday afternoon, Ross began planting corn. He went to the VanVleet and Holscher farm locations. He reported that the conditions were very good.

Ross operates the CIH MX 290 tractor with the CIH 1250 24-row corn planter. This is at the Holscher farm location southwest of Wheatland.
I’ll hook up the soybean no-till air drill this morning, and plant some soybeans today! It’s always a fun time of year to get that thing going, too.
In other good news, the brothers of Shepard Construction have completed the work at the Burke farm! The line of tile was installed yesterday morning, and the big culvert was put into the Kessinger Ditch levee in the afternoon. Just before dark, they removed the old foundations of the former grain bins. I must say I am very pleased with the ‘new ground’.
Corn planting continues today. Rain is predicted for tonight.
