We are down to the last field of early-planted soybeans–the Freddie farm. It’s about 300 acres in one field, about 1 mile by 1/2 mile. It is our goal to finish it today (and tonight). The weather-man is predicting a chance of rain tonight, so we are eager to get this behind us today. Frost this morning will delay our start a little more, but if it really is going to rain in the night, it will stay ‘dry’ after dark. It could be a late night tonight!
It will be two weeks or more before the double-crop beans are ready.
One thing that strikes me about the day: Is there anything more beautiful in nature than a clear October day in southern Indiana?
