We finished the corn harvest in the final field at Roberson last evening. I have done some calculations, and the yield for the entire corn crop was 86.4 bushels per acre. That’s about half what we use for our budget projections, but only about 40% of the corn yields for the past 4-5 years. This result is a little above where we may have imagined it before harvest.
Now, we will turn our full attention to soybean havest, there is over 900 acres of early-planted beans to harvest, and about 400 acres of double-crop beans to bring in. But those DCB are really green. Frost is predicted for Sunday night. We will see what happens. Today’s forecast is for afternoon rain. We will do all we can today.
Have a great weekend.
