Keep on truckin’

Friday, December 6, 2024

The trucks are rolling again today.  Brandon K is moving soybeans down to ADM at Newburgh, while Brandon D is taking corn to GPC at Washington.  There is a road closure on westbound US 50 just west of White River, making the return from GPC a much longer drive.  The two trucks remain busy today, delivering grain that was sold for December.

This map from Operations Center shows that Brandon K has arrived at ADM in Newburgh.

The repairs to our Pete truck were finally completed and it got moved out of the shop and back into its storage location.  It joins the Volvo there.  It’s great to see them cleaned up and serviced.

The Pete is hooked back to its Wilson trailer, ready whenever it is needed.

The Volvo is shined and serviced and ready for its next assignment.

The sprayer came home from Sloan’s in Vincennes yesterday.  It was there to be winterized, inspected, and repaired (from the inspection results).  Now, we have all our fleet on site, stored under roof and out of the weather.  That’s a good feeling.

Our R4044 sprayer is back home now, and stored away in the new building.

The morning started pretty chilly at 13ºF (-11C).  This was the coldest morning so far this winter.  But a warming trend is predicted with highs above 50ºF over the weekend.  Up and down…  The best thing about this cold morning is that there is no wind!   With the clear, blue, and sunny skies… it really is not bad at all.   Just Wednesday, we had that cold temp plus strong winds.  That was really sharply cold, cutting right through to your bones.  So much better today.
