A little rain interrupts

Friday, May 24, 2025

Yesterday afternoon, while Brandon was planting in the last corn field of #plant24, I was at the Burke farm mowing the riparian strips on the levee.  Both jobs were going fairly well, but an unexpected rain came through the area, and we both got rained out.  It didn’t rain much, just enough to stop us.  It didn’t rain here at the main farm.  John was spraying post-emerge corn at the Harry farm and he didn’t get rained out.

John had a wonderful helper riding the sprayer with him yesterday!

At least the mowing went well yesterday… until the rain came…again.

I’ll go in the Gator this morning to look for a place where I can plant soybeans.  I’m not confident I’ll find the fields dry enough today, but I gotta go look!

John got the post-emerge corn herbicide application caught up, and then he cleaned out his sprayer to convert over to post-emerge soybean herbicide application.  He was able to spray about 120 acres of that yesterday evening, too!  He will be back at it today, until/unless it rains or it gets too windy.

Have a good weekend, everyone!
