Corn, continued.

We did stay with corn harvest on Thursday.  It was an eventful day, working on the Two Hills and the Cox farm.  All these fields are along US 50.  The Two Hills are the steepest fields we have, making terraces and WASCoBs important to the way we work there.

Looking down from the upper part of the Cox Hill field, you can see US 50 far below.

We finished the flatter Cox field about 10 pm, and then moved the combines back home.

At the far end of the Cox field, we run out of some good-yielding corn into the patch that drowned out.

Ben was home for a couple days, and spent part of yesterday afternoon co-piloting the JD S680 with me.

Home from his job as a pilot at Republic Airlines, Ben is my co-pilot this afternoon.

Yes, the yields are not record-breaking in 2015, but things could be worse.  Remember 2012 and the severe drought?  1Thessalonians 5:18 helps us remember proper priorities…
