On this cloudy, drizzly, 59º morning, we’re counting up the rain from yesterday evening.  Another inch fell here at the farm.  We just finished the wettest June since such records have been kept (1895), and July is starting to mimic June.

Looking out the front door, you can see the rain pouring down.

The opportunity to replant the drowned soybean acres is looking smaller and smaller.  But we will wait until July 20 to firmly make that call.

If you can look past the dead spots and dead fields of soybeans, what remains looks pretty good.  The commodity markets are beginning to respond to these weather conditions.

Somehow it’ll all work out.

Tomorrow is a training day at our John Deere dealer for a new kind of data management system.  I’m going to check it out.
