The combines are out of the storage barn today. Found a problem in the S680 feeder house…and a service man will be coming soon. Did the lubrications on the 640FD, and removed the lock-up bolts so that the flexible part can do its job. We are learning operation settings of this new header and had a phone call with Jason Lueken for some additional information. I’m pleased that Jason will accompany me on the first day of operation in soybeans. He will help me with the learning curve!
It is a beautiful day in southern Indiana. It is a pleasant 77ºF (25C), there is a blue sky and just a few wispy clouds. Could not ask for a better day to do some outdoor work on prepping these combines! Harvest corn next week? Maybe. The calendar says “pick corn”, but the greenish appearance says “wait”. Soybeans in a couple weeks… they’re more yellow than green now. Significant rain is predicted for tomorrow.
