Water, water everywhere…

It’s no wonder there is still water standing all over the neighborhood.  I checked the rain gauge this morning, and it reads 5.63″ (143mm) from the weekend rain event.  It started on Friday night, and stopped Saturday night.  There were reports this morning from around Knox County of up to 7″!  We will have a flood on White River, West Fork, and it could last for many days; the heavy rain continued all the way up the White River valley, to Indianapolis and beyond.

Here is the hydrograph of the White River forecast. Notice the steep rise!

The WASCoBs drained out by last night, but low-lying, flat fields are still under water.

The snow has washed away, and it won’t be a white Christmas this year.  But the family is coming home, and that’ll make for a good holiday.

We met with Greg Anthis of CPS this morning, and made plans for the top-dress of nitrogen on the wheat.  It will be a blend of urea and ESN.
