Yes, it’s raining. That makes me pleased that we moved the combines home last night and put them in the shed. I calculated that we have 313 acres of DCB and replant left to do. The weather forecast is pretty favorable after today, and I fully expect to get done with harvest in the next window of opportunity.

This was the S680 combine they brought us yesterday to demonstrate the John Deere flex-draper header. We replaced the fuel we burned yesterday before they took the machine back to the dealership this morning.
The MacDon header needs a little repair to the center feed auger, and John and Brandon have that in process. Vincennes Welding is coming to weld up one of the broken parts that holds up one end of that particular auger. For what else would you use a rainy day, if not to repair your machines?
Did the October bank reconciliations this morning. Then, I prepared the property taxes to be mailed in soon. The fall installment, due November 12 this year (as compared to the typical Nov 10) is something I used to do in person at the courthouse. Now, I just mail it in, avoiding long lines at the County Treasurer’s office.
Ben is on his 3rd of 3 trips to GPC for the day.
