John is out today in the Peterbilt delivering the last of the soybeans to market.  It is comforting to know that the responsibility of storage is now on someone else’s shoulders. We will be empty of beans by noon.   And we will continue the day delivering corn to market.  Ross has sold 20,000 bushels (approximately 19 truck-loads) to Robinsons to be delivered this week and next.  It is a rare thing to be empty of grain this early in the marketing year, but that is a reflection of the low yields and the way the grain markets react in this yield environment.

Philip is home today packing his stuff for his big move to Portland, Oregon.  He has been home for 17 months after earning his graduate degree at U of O.  He continues his search for employment, and he is convinced he will fare better if he is located in the community where he really wants to work.  It has been a great experience to have him back here these several months… and it allowed him to reconnect with us all, especially his brother John.   Philip has great capability, and has been able to do any task we asked of him here on the farm.  It has been a privilege to have him here, but he must be off to live his own dream.  He begins his new adventure as he drives in a U-Haul across the country… 2200+ miles… to his new home in Portland.   Our hearts go with him, and we pray for him to find great contentment, much happiness, and just enough success to keep his dream going.
