Today is a day where big changes are noticeable.  The guys from Midwest Ag Systems (MAS), Rockport, Indiana have been here for many days preparing the new dryer for installation.  Today is the day when the crane came to lift the old dryer away and set the new one in its place.  It has been interesting to watch the old dryer ‘fly’ away.  And it is even more interesting to see the new dryer stacked in the same location.  It is so shiny, with bright stainless and galvanized steel.

Out goes the top half of the old GSI Airstream 2320 dryer. We hear it's headed for a new home near Shelbyville, Indiana

Here the top half of the new GSI X-Stream 2326 begins its flight into place

going, going.....

almost there....

The connection is made....

All that remains for crane work is to install the fill pipe from the top of the elevator to the top of the new dryer.   The crane was one of Graber’s from Washington, Indiana.

MAS will be here several more days connecting the unload system, overseeing the electrical connections, getting the LP gas supply prepared, and getting the controls connected to the internet.

The previous dryer was installed in May of 1998, and has served us well for all these years.  Let’s hope the new one, more efficient and with more capacity, builds a track record equal to the old one!  Now those two 12-row combines will not be held back by dryer capacity!
