.31 and counting

Saturday, July 14, 2012

We awoke today to the soft and muted sound of a gentle rain.  It has continued today, of-and-on, (mostly on) and so far .31″ has fallen.  It’s the kind of a day we’ve needed and for which we’ve asked for weeks.  Some of the corn is too far gone to rescue, but it may make an improvement to the later corn and soybeans.

This evening, we are assisting with the “50’s Diner”, our church’s contribution to the Wheatland, Indiana WheatFest.  Who knows, maybe we’ll see a lady in one of those old ‘poodle skirts’!
